Training Coordinator -Recruiter

Department: Administration

Reports To: Director of Human Resources

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY 

This is a unique opportunity to leverage your experience in production operations, adult learning principles, and process optimization to train employees in support of organizational key performance indicators. A strong sense of ownership and accountability is expected. 

This is an in-house, hands-on position (not remote)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the duties of this position include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Create and maintain program documentation (lesson plans, instructor guides, visuals, etc.) to support the overall structured manufacturing training program
  • Facilitate new hires through all phases of the structured manufacturing training program, including extended onboarding
  • Qualify Shop floor personnel as on-the-job trainers
  • Deliver other required training, as assigned
  • Determine appropriate training method for work instruction updates
  • In collaboration with manufacturing supervisors schedule training events to train manufacturing personnel.
  • Perform real-time documentation review of in-process manufacturing activities 
  • Hands-on training of manufacturing staff 
  • Assess training effectiveness. Work with training and quality groups to improve training materials and curriculum.
  • Identify any gaps or opportunities for training.
  • Present training records and process during audits. Accountable for implementation of regulatory commitments.
  • Revise training material

How you will contribute:

~70% of Time

Training:

  • Train manufacturing personnel on manufacturing operations and Lean manufacturing systems. Maintain and revise training material to support training
  • Ensure documentation is complete, reviewed and meet good documentation practices.
  • Recommend/Implement process or safety improvements.
  • Help identify training needs.

~20% of Time

HR Duties

  • Miscellaneous HR duties including supporting recruiting and other projects

~ 10% of Time 

  • Provide feedback on staff's performance.
  • Ensure staff compliance with all relevant SOPs, OMs and safety guidelines during training.
  • Be a role model (Lead by Example).
  • Be a resource/SME for staff.
  • Use safe work practices and behaviors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years of production operations experience with 1-2 years in a training role (preferred)
  • Understanding of production process and methodology
  • Open collaborative style; ability to work both in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision or direction
  • Unfazed by ambiguity and comfortable in environments with shifting priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including solid interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Demonstrates personal leadership and accountability
  • Understanding in adult learning principles, instructional design, or education
  • Proven time management and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to build relationships across organizational departments and reporting structures
  • Four-year college or university degree preferred
