Project Manager

As a Project Manager, you will be working within the AutonomouStuff technical team and collaborating with the wider Core Autonomy group on a variety of perception related projects and products including, but not limited to, mining and agriculture, localization and autonomy. 

The role encompasses all aspects of project management e.g. leadership and co-ordination of all aspects of the ongoing projects including planning, organising, staffing, and controlling project costs and quality.

This position is with Hexagon’s Autonomy & Positioning division, a global technology leader, pioneering end-to-end solutions industry leaders rely on for assured positioning and autonomy on land, sea and air. Within the Autonomy & Positioning division your work will contribute to the operation of our brand(s) NovAtel, AutonomouStuff, VERIPOS and Antcom.

The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based in Morton, IL. 

Responsibilities

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring work is conducted to the required scope and quality within time and budget whilst following all technical department and project management processes
• Preparing, planning and managing projects and their inherent quality, costs, changes and risks to a successful conclusion
• Managing project risks, including the development of contingency plans
• Being the laison with the project engineering lead to ensure that work is neither overlooked nor duplicated, ensuring interdependencies with other projects are identified and controlled.
• Monitoring and reporting on overall progress and use of resources to stakeholders, initiating corrective action where necessary
• Adopting and applying appropriate technical and quality strategies and standards
• Assisting in planning and controlling the delivery of the program and its activities in accordance with the priorities of the organization

Qualifications

Must-Have:

• Qualification in a technical discipline
• 5 years’ experience of project management in product development
• Experience of effectively managing subcontractors, design partners and vendors

• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally
• Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness
• Ability to effectively manage subcontractors, design partners and vendors
• Ability to take work/tasks/projects to closure
• Possess excellent analytical skills and be able to produce high-quality technical reports, procedures and other similar documentation
• Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear, timely decisions 
• Set priorities, develop a work schedule, and monitor progress toward goals, and track details, data, information and activities
• Determine strategies to move the organization forward, create and implement actions plans, and evaluate the process and results
