We are seeking an experienced and organized Preschool Coordinator to join our team at our center located in the vibrant Discovery District of downtown Columbus, Ohio. The Preschool Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our preschool program, ensuring a nurturing and enriching environment for children, families, and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee 4-6 preschool classrooms and ensure they are in compliance with licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Supervise, mentor, and coach preschool teaching staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to promote excellence in teaching and learning.
- Act as a liaison for head start, city, and Ohio Department of Education (ODE) partnerships, collaborating closely with external agencies and stakeholders to enhance program quality and access to resources.
- Screen and assess children as needed, collaborating with teachers, families, and external professionals to ensure children's developmental and behavioral needs are identified and addressed effectively.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to manage enrollment, admissions, and registration processes, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with licensing requirements.
- Foster positive relationships with parents and families, serving as a point of contact for inquiries, concerns, and feedback related to the preschool program.
- Coordinate special events, celebrations, and educational programs to enhance the preschool experience and promote family engagement.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, sanitation protocols, and emergency procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for all.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience working in a leadership or supervisory role in an early childhood education setting.
- Knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education best practices, and curriculum development.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and mentor staff members.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with licensing regulations, accreditation standards, and compliance requirements for preschool programs.
- Proficiency in computer skills and experience with administrative tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, and record-keeping.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
