We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Toddler Teacher to join our team at our center located in the vibrant Discovery District of downtown Columbus, Ohio. The Assistant Toddler Teacher will work alongside our lead toddler teacher to create a nurturing and supportive environment where toddlers can learn, explore, and grow.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead toddler teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Support the lead teacher in creating a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment that meets the needs of toddlers and encourages exploration and discovery.
- Engage and interact with toddlers in meaningful ways, fostering positive relationships and providing individualized attention and support.
- Assist with daily routines and transitions, including diapering, feeding, napping, and toileting, while promoting independence and self-help skills.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to assess children's progress and communicate observations, concerns, and successes to parents and families.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with children, families, and colleagues.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, sanitation protocols, and emergency procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for toddlers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or early childhood education setting.
- Knowledge of toddler development and understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for this age group.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and engage with parents and families.
- Ability to follow directions, work as part of a team, and adapt to changing priorities and routines.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring). Benefits:
