Health Trust is Hiring a Clinical Supervisor Near San Jose, CA

 

The clinical supervisor provides clinical supervision to staff assigned to programs under the Housing Services Department requiring to meet Medicare/MediCal standards. Oversees psychosocial assessments completion, reviews and approves treatment plans and documentation to meet the needs of the clients. The clinical supervisor fosters staff’s clinical development and appropriate behavioral health clinical treatment goals and interventions for the clients in the program. The clinical supervisor ensures the quality of clinical services by providing individual and group supervision, didactic trainings and consultation to program staff to ensure best practices and standards of care. This position is also responsible to ensure that trauma informed and culturally competent services are being provided and appropriate professional standards and licensing/certification requirements are being met. This is a part time position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meets individually with program staff to provide clinical supervision, oversight and training. 
  • Provides group supervision, crisis intervention and assistance, supervise assessments and clinical documentation
  • Documentation review and oversight meeting Santa Clara County Behavioral Heath Services Department Systems of Care standards.
  • Reviews and ensure the quality of client charts meet all legal and ethical standards of care.
  • Provides training and guidance on Medi-Cal documentation updates.
  • Provides and support staff with differential diagnoses.
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical and psychiatric records of clients as required by applicable state and federal laws.
  • Responsible for completion comprehensive reassessments prior to expiration of current treatment plans in a timely manner. 
  • Carries a client caseload as needed. 
  • Participates in programmatic audit and compliance activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  • Master’s Degree in social work or counseling required. 
  • Licensed professional in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and/or Board of Psychology. 
  • At least 2 years of experience post license for BBS staff collecting supervised professional experience. 
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of related experience working with chronically homeless or dually diagnosed populations preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DSM-5, ICD, psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery principles, evidence based and community best practices working with these complex populations.
  • Experience with Medicare/MediCal billing, documentation and insurance eligibility.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY

  • Capacity to work with clients as needed in a confidential, respectful, caring, professional manner.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Knowledge and experience with evidence-based practices, including trauma informed care. 
  • Knowledge and experience on ethicolegal factors impacting these multiple system involved populations.
  • Working knowledge and versatility with electronic health record platforms and tools such as Salesforce, myAvatar, UniCare, DocuSign, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to make routine decisions and determine proper action based on experience within the limits of policy and procedures. 
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultures, ages and economic backgrounds in a culturally competent and sensitive manner. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse population groups and maintain a high standard of professional and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to conduct, lead and/or train staff on effective interviews at times under difficult or stressful circumstances.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work on weekend as needed. 
  • Ability to work independently and/or with general supervision, prioritize and problem solve. Critical thinking ability and good judgment.
  • Car available for daily use, a valid California driver’s license, and car insurance as required by the State of California. 
  • Annual Tuberculosis Screening required.
  • Employment background screening required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are performed in a combination of the office setting and the field meeting with clients. Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Exposure to outside environment when out in the field.
