Job Summary and Qualifications

To give skilled bedside care to patients based on their individual needs including administration of oral and intramuscular medications, and treatment within scope of practice. Maintains patient records and participates in the achievement of unit objectives.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assists in formulating the patient's plan of care
  • Able to assist RN with the developmental needs of patients from infant to geriatric and modify teaching with supervision
  • Assists in planning and conducting patient/family teaching and records result
  • Performs EKGs as directed by ED physician/chest pain guidelines
  • Provides continuous observation of symptoms, reactions, changes, and progress of assigned patients. Documents accurately and reports to the RN
  • Provides direct patient care to include, but not limited to, administration of treatments and medications under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, utilizing the patient standards of care
What qualifications you will need:

  • Currently licensed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in California
  • Must show proof of an approved IV certification class
  • Current BLS certification
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school
  • Minimum one-year acute care hospital experience in area of specialty
  • Competencies are reflected by valid CA LVN license and are validated during preceptor/orientation process

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved)
