Overview

The Senior Maintenance Technician is a key member of the maintenance team responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of various equipment, machinery, and facilities. This role involves performing complex troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and complex maintenance tasks on a variety of equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to identify and implement effective solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
• Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to document maintenance activities and manage work orders.
• Provide guidance, training, and supervision to junior maintenance technicians.
• Coordinate and prioritize workload to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
• Adhere to and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Conduct safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Participate in the development and implementation of safety training programs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and inspections.
• Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance trends, and downtime analysis.
• Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Collaborate with the procurement team to identify and source necessary parts and supplies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Implement and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve critical issues.

Qualifications

• This position requires travel to various locations within Virginia and outside of Virginia. Overnight travel - 20% of the time.
• Proven experience as a maintenance technician, with a focus on troubleshooting and repairs.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
