Candidates must demonstrate a deep understanding of evidence-based practices for teaching grades 1 - 5 literacy and math. The ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers on the implementation of core, supplemental, and intensive intervention approaches for reading/writing and math in grades 1 - 5 is required. Provide small group or individual intervention for the most at risk students.
Letters of application, recommendations and/or references, ability to work as a team member and previous experience with elementary/middle school age children is preferred. All applicants must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a bilingual approval/endorsement. If they do not hold the bilingual approval/endorsement with their PEL, they must hold an Illinois Transitional Bilingual License (TBE). Reading Specialist endorsement is preferred. Fluency and the ability to speak, read and write in Spanish is preferred.
Salary: As per current teacher salary schedule
