Key Results Area: Answers incoming telephone calls. Resolve questions and insures payment to client. Should be able to interact with others in a cooperative and friendly manner.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
· Answers telephone calls from patients and insurance companies per office standards. Occasional phone contact with client or office manager.
· Types or enters information into computer to prepare correspondence or other documents, copying information from one record to another.
· Processing credit card payments.
· Opening mail and processing charity logs.
· Checking patient logs against the system and making necessary changes.
· Complete special projects that may be required.
· Perform all appropriate duties and responsibilities as outlined in system user manual.
· Responsible for understanding compliance issues and communicating concerns to manager or compliance committee.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education:
One year certificate from college or technical school preferred, High School Diploma/GED Required.
Experience:
· Six months to one-year related customer service phone experience, preferably in a medical setting and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
· Must be comfortable with computers and have previous data entry, 10-key and basic Excel experience.
· Previous medical billing experience is desired.

Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must possess the ability to multi-task a variety of responsibilities and deal with job-related pressure and change.
Must have previous experience working with a high-volume of paperwork.
Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with management, co-workers and patients.
Ability to operate basic office equipment such as copier, fax, and calculator.
Utilize phone etiquette skills to ensure a positive and professional interaction with patients.
Communicate effectively and clearly to provide accurate information and resolve issues.
