Tennessee State Loan Repayment Program (TSLRP)

TSLRP offers loan repayment for eligible primary care practitioners in exchange for two years of qualifying service in a rural community. To qualify, you must work two years (full-time or part-time) for an eligible primary care provider.

Providers must either be a federally designated Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) or a facility designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or Rural Health Clinic (RHC).The program offers up to $50,000 in loan repayment assistance for an initial two-year service obligation.

The Hamilton County Health Department has a responsibility to respond quickly and efficiently when public health emergencies occur. All Hamilton County Health Department employees are responsible for ensuring their contact information is current and they are accessible should a public health emergency arise. The Hamilton County Health Department maintains a call down system to store contact information and mobilize staff in the event of an emergency. During a public health emergency, all staff are required to respond should a call to mobilize be made. During a public health emergency, work hours for any and all Hamilton County Health Department employees are subject to modification to meet the needs of the community. 

DEFINITION: Under limited supervision, provides professional preventive, restorative and emergency dental care to residents living in Hamilton County including the indigent, underserved or homeless.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, physical requirements, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics. A Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree or Doctor of Dental Surgery plus required Tennessee Dental Board License, DEA Certificate, and current BLS CPR Certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work requires highly skilled professional dental care provision that involves extended periods of time concentrating on detail while working with caustic chemicals and dental materials, exposure to possible radiation, toxic gases, infectious diseases, air, fluid and blood borne pathogens, hot sterilized equipment, and potentially combative patients.
