ROLE: Analyst, Business Development & Investor Relations

LOCATION: New York, New York

START DATE: Summer 2024

REPORTING TO: Business Development Manager

Hall Capital Partners is an independent, privately owned investment advisor and Outsourced Chief Investment Office that builds and manages multi-asset class global investment portfolios for families, endowments, and foundations. Our clients have made extraordinary contributions to business, philanthropy, government, academia, and society, and our investment activities enable our clients to continue these contributions. As of December 30, 2023, we direct more than $43.5 billion of investment assets for our clients and a platform of pooled vehicle investors. Founded in 1994, our approximately 180 employees operate from offices in San Francisco and New York.

We seek an Analyst to join our Business Development team in our New York office. This is a 2-year, entry-level analyst position with the potential for a top-performing Analyst to expand and extend their engagement in an Associate position.

ROLE SUMMARY:

In your role, you will be a critical member of a small and nimble Business Development team responsible for the firm’s new business, investor relations and marketing/brand efforts. The team regularly collaborates with senior members of the firm across various teams, departments and offices. Candidates should have a strong interest in marketing and client services, in addition to having an interest in learning and understanding the firm’s investment management practice.

Please find below a detailed description of your job responsibilities. This is not an exhaustive list.

New Business

  • Support discussions with prospective advisory clients by working on materials including Requests for Proposals, slide decks, and custom data requests.
  • Record information on prospective clients and track progress of new business opportunities.
  • Maintain databases of language, slides, and other materials used in discussions with prospective clients.

Investor Relations

  • Update and maintain materials that report on the firm’s pooled investment vehicles and assist in correspondence with certain investors.
  • Develop understanding of the different Pooled Vehicles and deliverables.

Marketing/Brand Development

  • Coordinate and assist with updates to firm website and firm marketing flipbooks.
  • Develop an understanding of the firm’s style guide and branding guidelines.
  • Partner with Legal/Compliance to ensure firm marketing materials are compliant with SEC marketing rules.

Internal and External Client Service

  • Be proactive in correspondence with your team and other parties. Place an emphasis on clarity, context and professional tone.
  • Exhibit initiative and timeliness in responding to internal and external emails, Slacks, and other requests.
  • Engage in various ad hoc projects in collaboration with Portfolio Managers and other senior members of the firm, as well as members of the Investment Research Group, Fund Administration Group, and Legal/Compliance.

PAY TRANSPARENCY:

Hall Capital’s expected starting base compensation for the position as of the time of this posting is $90,000 per year, based on a full year of 40 hours of work per week. The successful candidate(s) may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus award.
