Halff is Hiring a Community Planner Near Houston, TX

Entry-Level Community Planner
Halff is seeking to hire an entry or mid-level Community Planner to join the Houston, Texas office. The ideal person for this position can thrive in a collaborative work environment with an interdisciplinary team of planners, landscape architects, and engineers on a variety of planning efforts.
The Halff Houston team is involved in exciting planning projects in Houston and beyond ranging from comprehensive plans; parks, recreation, and trails planning; active transportation and mobility planning; corridor and special area planning; urban design and land planning; development codes; and more.
The responsibilities of the Community Planner include support of senior staff projects, public engagement, plan development, report writing and document production, and the preparation of maps and graphics. The successful candidate can work on assigned tasks collaboratively or autonomously as conditions require, conduct research, and produce project deliverables, coordinate with client representatives, and confidently interact with the public.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in community/urban planning, landscape architecture, architecture, or a closely related field
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with computer programs (GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office programs) and the ability to produce attractive maps, graphics, and written documents
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Up to 5 years of experience but recent graduates will also be considered
  • Experience in both the public and private sector
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and highly motivated
  • Strong writing and graphic skills
Compensation:
  • Commensurate with experience. Halff Associates has a competitive pay and benefits package
