Summary/Objective

The Development Coordinator is responsible for overseeing database management including gift and donor data entry and reporting and analysis of donations through Salesforce. The position will also assist in donor recognition; stewardship, development and implementation of events; community relations and assistance with marketing of programs, services, and fundraising opportunities; and any activities related to the development department.

Essential Functions
  • Process all gifts and receipt acknowledgements including, but not limited to credit cards, checks, cash, Cars for Homes, grant entry, Gift in Kind, and online donations.
  • Generate and track acknowledgements and tribute letters for all gifts.
  • Manage monthly renewal process of in-house mailer, phone calls, and emails to expiring donors.
  • Act as a liaison with the Finance department.
  • Oversee Salesforce data and hygiene.
  • Manage weekly meetings for Development Team.
  • Act as liaison between development officers and volunteer department.
  • Manage communications and membership lists.
  • Manage mailing lists, invitations, direct mail correspondence, mail merges, and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely reporting to meet department needs.
  • Provide administrative support to development department; including, but not limited to CCTCP, letters of intent, proposals, matching gift requests, processing, pledge and payment reminder and other mailings.
  • Provide support for resource development events, fundraisers, lectures, and volunteer activities.
  • Research and assist with fundraising and grant opportunities.

  • Knowledge of cloud-based databases, reporting, and queries, Salesforce is preferred.

  • Well organized, detail oriented, and have strong critical thinking skills; this entails the ability to analyze circumstances, evaluate outcomes, and makes choices in the best interest of the development department and organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, with competing demands, while maintaining a commitment to excellence.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, reach with hands/arms, listen, and communicate. The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 15 pounds on a necessary basis and will occasionally be required to stand and walk for extended periods of time consistent with a typical office environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, hourly position and the office hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some early mornings, evenings, and weekends may be required.

Travel
Travel, if any, is primarily local during business hours and mileage is reimbursed.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Must obtain Anti-Money Laundering certificate within first 90 days and maintain annually; training provided by Habitat.
Must obtain First Aid / CPR / AED certificate within first 90 days; training provided by Habitat.
Preferred Education and Experience
Prior nonprofit and/or fundraising experience
Prior use of a Fundraising CRM
