ROLE SUMMARY
You are a heartbeat away from ship’s captain. As member of the management team, you shape the culture of the restaurant. It will carry your imprint. In the absence of the Restaurant General Manager (RGM), the buck stops with you. Your role is to build the capability of your team, continue running great shifts, and partner with your RGM to make your restaurant stand out from the field. This is a training ground for you because all that you learn here will be taken with you when you become RGM. Savor every experience, lean on your RGM for feedback and coaching, and gain confidence in your leadership of others and the restaurant!

Is quick to see core issues in complex situations
Energizes the team by encouraging discussion of “what’s possible” and setting breakthrough targets
Know How Builder
Seeks continuous feedback from different sources to improve their own performance
Executes success routines effectively
Coaches and drives excellence around core operations procedures on each of their shifts (e.g., shift accountability, product projections, Repairs & Maintenance (R&M) spending, Cost of Sales/Cost of Labor (COS/COL) controls)
People Grower
Champions and role models How We Win Together (HWWT2) and Achieving Breakthrough Results (ABR) culture within their store
Uses technology (e.g., Hiring Zone, Learning Zone) regularly to help the RGM build and retain strong teams
Role models and coaches using the EARS Model (Explore, Analyze, Respond and Making it Stick) to help build the capability of their team
Partners with the RGM in completing and executing the bench plan process
Holds employees accountable by using the Performance management process
Recognizes employees for exceptional performance using CHAMPS cards to reinforce breakthrough results
