We are seeking an experienced and quality-driven automotive technician to fill an open position in our car dealership’s service department. Our ideal candidate will be confident running diagnostics equipment to identify and complete automotive repairs to electrical and software systems. Responsibilities:

• Help establish service protocols for tracking the status of repairs, maintaining relevant technical manuals, using charts, and more for all of our dealerships
• Follow all manufacturer specifications for vehicle system repairs to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and facilitate returning business
• Explain automotive systems issues to customers to ensure a clear, transparent repair process
• Conduct routine maintenance, as needed, such as fluid level checks, tire rotations, brake pad replacement, or oil changes
• Examine all vehicle systems such as the air conditioning, engine, transmission, and brake systems with a step-by-step approach

Qualifications:

• ASE certification or comparable standard service technician credential, such as SAE, is attractive
• Automotive service technology training program completion or equivalent years of experience is required; associates degree is a bonus
• Excellent customer service and communications skills are necessary
• High school diploma or GED is required

Who is Grote Automotive? Fred Grote has been in the car business for over 25 years. He opened his 1st store in Fort Wayne, IN in 2008. Growing from 25 cars a month to 200 he opened a 2nd store in Warsaw, IN. After Great success there his 3rd store came to Rockford, IL. The 4th and 5th stores have just arrived in IN in 2022 as well.
