EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
  • Master's degree in human resources/related field OR a combination of education and a minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources/related field
Preferred:
  • SPHR preferred
  • Five years administration/management
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective: This dynamic position provides the opportunity to lead, improve, and direct the Innovation2030 operational hiring process. This person will partner with school district operational managers and school leadership to build and retain their teams. This director is essential in the leadership and engagement of the Human Resources Department to attract, hire, and retain school district personnel. This position works to create and maintain a quality staff by collaborating with all district administrators to provide professional development for managers and evaluation support for employees.

Essential Functions:
  • Leads and directs HR initiatives, processes, and procedures regarding hiring, employee placement, FTE staffing, and retiring of various employee groups
  • Participates in and leads Innovation2030 strategic planning action teams
  • Provides insight and strategies for recruiting opportunities
  • Inspires, motivates, and leads managers and administrators to hire a diverse workforce that ensures cultural equity reflecting the district's rich cultural environment
  • Monitors data regarding retention of employees and devises retention strategies collaboratively with other HR directors
  • Facilitates or mediates employee relations between supervisors and employees to resolve problems or conflicts
  • Assists in investigations of disciplinary or sexual harassment issues
  • Advises principals and other supervisors on evaluation and performance issues
  • Reviews, manages and provides guidance on evaluation systems which maximize employee effectiveness and create efficient evaluations for employees
  • Advises principals, hiring managers and department directors on employment law and performance issues (including discharge and discipline)
  • Supports the district's employee/applicant background check and fingerprint process with the HR leadership team
  • Ensures district compliance with state and federal statutes, policies, and regulations related to human resources including the Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Equal Pay Act, Civil Rights Act, and all related leave of absence acts
  • Advises the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and HR team on important human resource issues, responsibilities and laws
  • Maintains the unemployment process for the district
  • Serves on various committees to ensure safe working conditions for all employees
  • Supports employees and supervisors with leave of absence requests including: FMLA, Sick Leave Bank, and other leaves of absence
  • Assists the HR team on the licensed non-renew process
Additional Qualifications:
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Leadership in building consensus between various groups from employees to community partnerships
  • Communicates with employees, stakeholders, and community members with the intention of building trust and consensus
Other Duties: With the HR leadership team, monitor and ensure human resource staff provide customer service for all customers and stakeholders. Utilize the Human Resources Information System in Infinite Visions. Monitor, promote and follow district policies, district and department procedures, and other rules and regulations which may be established by the Superintendent or Board of Education. Supervise and evaluate human resource staff. Lead project to move employee physical files to electronic. Represents the district at various professional meetings, joint study groups, and conventions, i.e., CASE, CASPA, and NCASPA. Represents the district in personnel (Classified Council) and student teaching matters with colleges/universities, the Colorado Department of Education, and other institutions or agencies.
