Greater Springfield Senior Services, Inc. (GSSSI) is Hiring a Human Resources Benefits Administrator Near Springfield, MA

Full-time 35 hours per week.

NOT Remote


Exciting opportunity to engage in a variety of tasks. Assisting staff with various benefits. No two days are the same!

Responsible for assigned administrative tasks for the Human Resources function. Will perform back-up duties to support the Human Resources Specialist as needed.

  • Accurately process benefit enrollments and enrollment updates
  • Review and verify changes on health, dental, and life insurance bills
  • Enroll and monitor changes in the flexible spending accounts
  • Coordinate leaves of absence with both federal and MA Paid Leave paperwork and reporting
  • Participate in Unemployment Insurance reporting and hearings
  • Report and monitor Workers' Compensation Claims
  • Coordinate benefits with the Employee Assistance Program
  • Participate in preparing 1095-C forms and Total Compensation Statements
  • Assist staff with human resources related inquiries and paperwork
  • Prepare COBRA and other termination paperwork
  • Participate in New Hire Orientation
  • Support Agency Wellness Activities
  • Maintain job duty manual
  • Complete special projects as needed

The Benefits Administrator will be cross-trained to perform HR Specialist duties to be performed as needed.

  • Prepare and maintain personnel files
  • Assist in recruiting activities such as attending career fairs and updating job postings
  • Participate in making verbal job offers and preparing written offer letters
  • Perform background checks including but not limited to driver history, OIG, Federal GSA SAM, MA SORI, MassHealth Exclusions, education verification, CORI and National CORI
  • Assist with New Hire and Termination of Employment processes
  • Create identification badges

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Two years of general office experience
  • Human resources experience preferred

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)

If you are employed by a not-for-profit organization such as GSSSI, you may be eligible for the PSLF Program for student loans.
