Good Guard Security is Hiring a Human Resources Specialist Near Chatsworth, CA

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a passion for human resources and a strong understanding of HR policies and procedures. As a Human Resources Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting various HR functions, including employee relations, benefits administration, and HRIS management.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns. Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related matters, including policies, procedures, and benefits.

HRIS Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS system. Ensure data integrity and confidentiality while managing employee information, including personal details, benefits enrollment, and performance evaluations.

FMLA and LOA Administration: Coordinate and administer leave of absence programs, including FMLA, disability, and personal leaves. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies regarding leave management.

Union Relations: Assist in managing union-related activities, including contract negotiations, grievance resolution, and labor relations. Serve as a liaison between management and union representatives to address employee concerns and maintain positive working relationships.

Benefits Administration: Support benefits administration activities, including enrollment, eligibility verification, and claims processing. Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and provide guidance on available options.

Recruitment and Onboarding: Assist in recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination. Facilitate new hire onboarding processes, including orientation sessions and completion of required paperwork.

Training and Development: Coordinate training and development initiatives, including scheduling training sessions, tracking attendance, and evaluating program effectiveness. Assist in identifying training needs and developing training materials as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.

Minimum of 1 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on employee relations, benefits administration, and HRIS management.

Strong understanding of FMLA regulations, leave of absence policies, and union relations.

Proficiency in HRIS systems and software, with the ability to effectively manage employee data and generate reports.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Additional Requirements:

Must be coachable and open to feedback for continuous improvement.

Must be a self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
