GOLD MEDAL ENVIRONMENTAL/APPLE VALLEY WASTE is Hiring a Construction Sales Representative Near Baltimore, MD

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:Gold Medal Environmental/Apple Valley Waste is hiring for the position of Construction Sales Representative. Construction Sales Rep will be responsible for construction customer sales, renewing existing customers, internal growth of existing customers, and overall net growth of the market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Corporate Regional Field Sales Manager and General Manager selling new Construction projects.
  • Respond to Construction RFP requests within assigned market
  • Develop and maintain positive community relations/image through involvement in civic and trade organizations, business groups, and other key contacts.
  • Responsible for all new Construction prospects and retention of existing customers within the assigned market.
  • Report and submit monthly sales results
  • Daily cold call, phone blocking, and territory management utilized within the sales process
  • Research, prepare, assemble, and deliver proposals for new prospective customers and existing customers within the assigned market.
  • Support and respond to all customer retention activities or concerns.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or as needed

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Professional, well-groomed presentation skills
  • Confidence and energy in delivery when speaking and engaging with people
  • Strong understanding of various CRM and EPM technologies as well as electronic document signature applications and the ability to quickly learn other software programs
  • Strong logic and reason skills to creatively find a solution for clients
  • Able to adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and self-discipline to manage oneself without constant daily oversight
  • Outgoing personality and ability to communicate verbally either on the phone, or in person 
  • Ability to build relationships across various personalities and backgrounds
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent preferred, but not required
  • 3 years of outsides sales experience preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The normal setting for this position is operating a commercial sanitation vehicle and as such, this work is performed outdoors, with exposure in all seasonal weather conditions, including heat, snow, cold, rain, and wind. 
  • Safety is of the utmost importance as incumbent is required to enter and exit the vehicle frequently.
  • Incumbent is frequently exposed to noise, vibration, dirt, dust, grease, and foul odors. 
  • The work requires mandatory use of personal protective equipment (including gloves, high visibility vests and uniforms).
  • Exposure to moving automobile traffic while working outside the truck and working in highly congested traffic areas.
