Since 1884, we have exclusively supported the private dental practice and believe it is where the best patient care is delivered. Our company is looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager.
Job Description
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the warehouse. Manages inventory, items received, and the distribution of all products. Plans, develops, organizes, and monitors all warehouse activities and department employees' work, ensuring the department runs at peak efficiency while aligning all processes and procedures to Goetze Dental's company standards.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manages all aspects of the daily operations of the warehouse, shipping, receiving, picking, packing, returns, and invoicing of clients.
- Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse.
- Manages warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment.
- Maintains the personnel schedules, structure, and staffing levels necessary to accomplish the warehouse objectives and requirements of our customer guarantees in an effective and efficient manner.
- Plans and coordinates work, training and motivating, monitoring and evaluating performance, and cross-training of Warehouse Associates.
- Champion the “Days Work in a Day’s Time” philosophy of having all orders shipped the day of receipt based on company standards.
- Creates and maintains systems to cross-train employees so on a daily basis there is effective movement of warehouse activities to ensure all areas and employees are efficiently working.
- Conducts regular employee evaluations with all direct reports and provides feedback on job performance as needed.
- Responsible for the overall safety of the warehouse employees, equipment, and processes.
- Manages the procurement of products used in the warehouse, such as boxes, tape, strapping machines, shrink wrap, labels, etc. in a budget-conscious manner and ensuring stock is adequate at all times.
- Resolves and researches any mis-ships to clients to determine the cause for the error and implements any steps as necessary to avoid further repeat issues.
- Responsible for inventory control/management, including conducting research on inventory gains and losses to determine problems within the process and create systems to prevent future issues.
- Oversees the process of cycle counting and assists with reconciling any discrepancies.
- Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.
- Strategically adjust inventory locations based on velocity, size, and number of products.
- Create and maintain effective systems for new product location placement in SAP and applicable warehouse technologies.
- Takes proactive measures to actively work with all freight carriers regarding damages, claims, pick-up and delivery times, etc.
- Ensure the warehouse complies with all rules and regulations regarding, Board of Pharmacy, Fire Department, FDA, and any other agencies subject to inspecting our facility.
- Works with all departments and cooperates with any shipping, inventory, or facility needs issues that may arise.
- Responsible for ensuring all warehouse equipment is maintained properly and scheduling any repairs or preventative maintenance. (Forklifts, conveyor, compressor, pallet jacks, etc.)
- Anticipates and requests funding for future personnel requirements and future warehouse equipment.
- Communicate and collaborate with leadership and other departments to develop improved processes and procedures, including rewriting policies, reports, screen layouts, etc.
- Regularly participates in operational meetings with leadership and team as needed.
- Performs all other assigned duties as needed.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years of warehouse management experience.
- High level of proficiency with SAP Business One and applicable warehouse technology including the ability to train others on the technology.
- Manual dexterity required for operating warehouse machinery and forklift.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to train and motivate the warehouse employees.
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail within a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
- Ability to be a leader, team player, and meet deadlines.
Travel / Location:
Warehouse Manager must be based out of the Kansas City, MO office.
