Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City’s leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. Goddard Riverside is excited to announce we are diving into our settlement roots and becoming a resource to Asylum Seekers in New York City! Goddard’s newest endeavor will be a Sanctuary Site for Asylum Seeking families. This residence will be a place where families can feel safe, receive resources and support, while becoming acclimated and part of the community.

Purpose of Position: Provide oversight, direction, support and supervision to the team at the Restgate Hotel Sanctuary Site located in Long Island City, Queens. The residence has 39 units for families seeking asylum in NYC . The Program Director is responsible for overall program quality and performance.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Salary Range: $86,000 - $96,000

Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of the program.
• Provide direct and consistent supervision to Assistant Program Director, Administrative Assistant, and residential staff.
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, supervise, and evaluate staff regularly and consistently.
• Oversee evidence-based practice models including person centered planning, motivational interviewing, trauma informed care, culturally sensitive, and strengths-based approach are utilized.
• Ensure documentation including incident reporting is completed in a timely manner.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed for families.
• Plan and troubleshoot with facilities and security staff.
• Meeting with operations and security staff for planning and site management.
• Coordinate interpretation and translation services.
• Assist clinical team with troubleshooting with NYC Department of Education (DOE)
• Coordinate with the Mayor’s Office of Immigration Affairs (MOIA) and other legal assistance programs.
• Oversee rosters and attendance is updated in real time.
• Lead team meetings, and weekly communications and updates
• Attend bi-weekly agency Department Head meetings.
• Ensure quality and integrity of services and program.
• On-call responsibilities and shift coverage for 24/7 operation
• Other duties as needed.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in human services field
• Master’s degree in social work or other human services field preferred
• Knowledgeable on immigration laws, procedures, and benefits/entitlements, with the ability to stay up to date with changing procedures.
• Strong understanding of trauma and how it manifests, as well as experience delivering trauma-informed, culturally sensitive services.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required.
• Experience working on-site in a congregate housing setting.

Computer Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to learn data base systems, such as CARES
