Georgia Building Authority is Hiring an Administrative Assistant - State of Georgia Near Atlanta, GA

Duties: Under general supervision, the Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Facilities Department and serves as the initial point of contact for visitors to the office and callers on the telephone. This position will also support the Executive Assistant in the performance of the Executive Assistant’s administrative functions. Duties include assisting internal and external customers, answering phone calls and emails, greeting, and receiving guests, resolving issues, general filing and copying, data entry, typing correspondence, scheduling, and maintaining calendars, coordinating agendas and meetings, taking meeting minutes, creating documents, forms and spreadsheets and other general administrative tasks. The Administrative Assistant also performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED AND three (3) years of experience in performing clerical tasks. Must successfully pass a credit check.

Preferred Qualifications (Agency Specific): Preference will be given to applicants, who in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess one (1) or more of the following:

  • Experience working with databases.
  • Experience with purchase requisitions and/or financial coding.
  • Experience with incident reporting, documentation and/or insurance claims.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Creative Cloud, or Canva.
  • Experience working in State Government.

Competencies: Strong written, verbal and customer service skills; ability to collect and organize information. Ability to plan and prioritize work. Ability to initiate, compose and accurately type correspondence and administrative documents. Ability to provide superior customer service to a diverse customer group. Must be a team player with initiative and flexibility. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suites including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.

The selected applicant must be authorized to work in the United States and must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check, motor vehicle records check and drug screen.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,100.00 - $52,100.00 per year
