Job Overview
Georgetown's Office of the President seeks an independent, thoughtful, and flexible individual for the role of Program Manager to assist with a wide range of projects and administrative tasks covering a variety of functional areas. They work within the operational core of the President's Office to help ensure smooth day-to-day office performance; and to assist with and/or manage a variety of short and long-term programs and projects related to the President's Office operations and Presidential initiatives. A key team member, the Program Manager interacts and works collaboratively with all members of the President's Office staff, colleagues across the university, and external guests and partners.
The Program Manager has a dedication to creative thinking and independent problem solving, and a willingness and availability to work occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends. They place a premium on initiative, versatility, good judgment, excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and a positive, can-do attitude.
Examples of duties include but are not limited to:
Managing the President's Office student employee and high school intern programs
Coordinating campus visits for prospective students
Assisting at university events as needed
Meeting setup and logistics, note taking, and office administrative tasks and errands
Conducting short-term research projects
Work Interactions
Reporting directly to - and working closely with - the Assistant to the President for Administration and Special Programs, and the Program Manager also works closely with the Vice President and Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff. Additionally, they supervise not only a team of undergraduate student employees, but also high school student interns; and have opportunities to connect with colleagues in various roles across Georgetown's campuses.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Outstanding communication skills, good judgment, diplomacy, a commitment to problem-solving, teamwork, and confidentiality
Availability and willingness to work occasionally outside of regular business hours, to include weekends, early mornings, and late evenings
