Requirements HRIS Specialist, Department of Human Resources - Georgetown University The HRIS Specialist is responsible for a significant number of transactions within the Georgetown Management System (GMS), managing practically all HCM transactions for all Staff and Academic & Administrative Professionals (AAP). They often delineate and enforce HR and University Policy for HR associates throughout the university; and serve as a subject matter expert in HR Policy and GMS processes and as a primary point of contact for assistance for HR associates and managers across the University. The HRIS Specialist cultivates close working relationships in order to suggest policy edits/changes, as well as system modifications for smoother, more efficient GMS functionality and usability. Additionally, they analyze data and use strong problem solving skills and reasoning to effect data driven changes, and maintain the discretion needed to handle highly confidential information. Work Interactions Reporting to the HRIS Manager, the HRIS Specialist works closely with HR colleagues and individual departments throughout the University to provide analytical and technical human resources expertise, as well as with the HCM Trainer to identify training needs/gaps and to assist in training as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree At least 3 years of relevant experience ( note : equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered) Superior understanding of HR policies and practices and employment laws HRIS experience required; Workday experience preferred Strong computer skills, with intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Excel to create, extract, manipulate and analyze data and reports High level of accountability Ability to identify and proactively question data inconsistencies Superior judgment and strong intellectual and analytical abilities Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills High level of professionalism, and a commitment to customer service and confidentiality Work Mode: Telework.
