GBR Architects, LLC is Hiring a Bookkeeper/Business Manager Near Alexandria, VA

Forty-year-old Architectural firm in Alexandria, VA is seeking a business manager/accountant with 3 to 5 years of accounting and administrative experience. Responsibilities include directing and overseeing all financial activities of the firm including cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll and general accounting. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, on-site position.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day bookkeeping: A/R (cash receipts & invoicing), A/P (payables & processing checks), cash management (preparing bank deposits & bank reconciliations), journal entries, and preparing monthly financial reports and statements using generally accepted accounting software.
  • Analyzing accounting information and preparing cash flow, profitability and other reports.
  • Maintain firm business and architectural licenses.
  • Assist with planning firm events.
  • Miscellaneous administrative tasks.
  • Perform HR-related matters such as timesheets management, processing payroll (ADP), maintaining employee files, tracking leave, and managing benefits including health insurance, life and disability insurance.
  • Assist outside CPA with the information needed for income tax filings and or audits.

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the US for any employer.
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in accounting.
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of proven bookkeeping/accounting and administrative experience for a consulting firm; A/E/C industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with GAAP accounting methods, and generally accepted accounting software and databases; experience with Unanet AE software preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Government IDIQ contracts and FAR reporting requirements is a plus.
  • Positive, friendly and professional personality.
  • Ability to work independently but also in collaboration with management.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain detail-oriented records and effectively communicate accounting information to management.
  • Willing to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
  • Trustworthy and able to handle sensitive information in a mature manner.
  • A background check will be performed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
