Job Description:

The Director of Field Marketing is responsible for setting the strategy for field marketing and aligning the resources, timing, budget and measures of success with sales and marketing leadership to meet the stated business objectives for both new business and expanded business within the install base. The work includes leading a team of field marketing members and lead development reps in building out specific programs at the regional and national level to develop pipeline and progress that pipeline to a successful outcoming. Program tactics include Account Based Marketing (ABM), Events, Inbound and Outbound Lead Outreach (sales plays leveraging Lead development reps) and leveraging integrated campaigns from the core teams such as digital marketing, email marketing, webinars, content syndication, etc. The Director of Field Marketing is the liaison between marketing and our local/regional/national market leaders and partners for all parts of marketing. This position is responsible for maturing the discipline by helping to set the standard around expert usage of the MarTech and SalesTech stacks, being transparent on marketing effectiveness and helping to set the standard in the processes and engagement model with all departments, levels and functions of the company, and manages vendor/partner contracts.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Define the overall field marketing annual plan with specific details at both the national and regional levels.
  • Align the executional plans including metrics/targets for success, program focus, event strategy, timelines, budgets levels, etc. Align with regional sales leadership and marketing leadership. Ensure those plans are also synchronized within all of marketing for product launches, announcements and other components of the integrated campaign plans.
  • Manage a team of field marketers to develop and implement field-related pipeline acceleration programs in concert with sales. Proactively engage with the direct and indirect sales teams to coordinate, communicate, and optimize the impact of marketing activities.
  • Direct the efforts of the LDRs to focus on both inbound and outbound efforts. This includes setting targets, aligning with sales for focus areas, creating sales playbooks and reviewing results for constant improvements.
  • Research, choose, design and manage the appropriate mix of live and virtual events to be included as tactics in the overall marketing mix. This includes industry, networking, customer and co-sponsored events and, when appropriate, webinars.
  • Plan and execute cohesive pre-event, at-event and post-event strategy to increase engagement and response rates. This includes email outreach, LDR outreach and post event engagement.
  • Evaluate, select and manage vendors that contribute to local demand creation programs including event venues and services.
  • Forecast, measure, analyze and report on impact of field and LDR programs. Proactively engage sales leadership on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to communicate progress, take feedback and adjust plans to continue to improve performance to business objectives.
  • Build out an appropriate coverage model for the LDRs to ensure inbound efforts are handled while also driving outbound prospecting in conjunction with AE focused target accounts.
  • Manage and lead the national team of field marketing and LDR members to grow in their expertise, to test and learn, and to ultimately deliver a high ROI, while also having some fun.
  • Consistently produce results on time and within budget.
  • Design the base data center tour experiences for key prospects
  • May serve on special project teams as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned

      Required Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; 6 years of marketing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • Experience in multiple areas of integrated marketing from events, to campaigns, to email marketing and digital.
      • Demonstrated ability to manage a large number of national and regional programs simultaneously. Strong planning and project management skills.
      • Experience in managing LDRs, setting targets, building playbooks and coaching to high performance for both outbound and inbound efforts.
      • Experience working with sales teams and integrating programs to drive awareness and demand for the company.
      • Ability to work and manage cross-functionally across geographic regions with tight coordination and execution.
      • Strong consultative marketing approach to effectively engage with sales and channel partner community.
      • Highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced team environment and is readily adaptable to changing market and organizational requirements.
      • Ability to align tactical plans to strategies.
      • Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, making and keeping commitments and meeting deadlines.
      • Highly comfortable with marketing metrics and managing to ROI. Strong skills in using Salesforce CRM, marketing automation tools and other ABM tools such as Zoominfo.
      • Self-starter, self-directed and independent thinker.
      • Capable of developing strong relationships, both internal and external, in supporting strategic marketing initiatives.

        Preferred Qualifications

        • Experience with Colocation and Cloud products.
        • Has experience with working in a multiple product portfolio with unique regional market considerations

          Physical Requirements

          • Travel 40% of the time
