FYI-For Your Information, Inc. is Hiring a Classification Specialist - Federal Human Resources Specialist Near Washington, DC

The Classification Specialist will serve as a technical advisor and provide position classification and position management services including writing and classifying position descriptions, position management, desk audits, and analysis of special studies and assessments. In this key role you will be responsible for classification and position management across the organization. You will provide subject matter expertise and work with a dynamic team of HR professionals.

Day to Day Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and making recommendations on organizational structure, workforce planning projections, and organizational realignments and redesigns.
  • Providing expert advice, consultation, and training on a variety of position classification and organization issues.
  • Conducting analytical work to ensure the organizational structure supports the requested position title, occupational series, pay system, and position grade.
  • Conducting special projects and studies to assess the effectiveness of and provide recommendations to improve the classification and/or position management programs and processes.
  • Using standard OPM guidelines for position classification
  • Provide reports and updates, both ad hoc and regularly scheduled as requested.
  • Desk audits as needed.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree. Will consider additional relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ten (10) years progress experience supporting Federal Human Resource programs.
  • Six (6) years in providing expert consultation and technical service in the review, maintenance, revising, and/or development of federal staffing requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite – PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OPM policies and guidelines for position classification, pay and GS Series.
  • Highly Desired – Exceptional organizational and planning skills.
  • Highly Desired – Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Highly Desired – Previous experience managing or influencing work of other.
  • Ability to maintain or obtain Public Trust Clearance.

This position is contingent upon contract award. Award expected April / May 2024.
