Fringe Bar is a small business in Philadelphia, PA. We are professional, customer-centric, and inclusive. Our goal is to provide our clientele with a top-quality dining experience. Food and service are top-notch, and our beer, wine, and cocktail programs are the perfect complement to our Soulful Pub Cuisine. We serve American classics, like burgers and wings, alongside some of the diverse culinary cuisines in Philadelphia, like African American soul food, Vietnamese, Italian, and Puerto Rican. The Sous Chef will be on a leadership team that is passionate about creating a work cultured where the team is motivated to work hard and achieve. This individual is exceedingly dependable, puts forth a great attitude, and has a desire to learn and grow each day. A minimum of three years of experience is required. Fringe Bar is a very busy and fast paced restaurant, with an indoor pub concept as well as a pizza truck. Our Sous Chef is expected to set the tone for all shifts, ensuring all prep tasks get completed, stations are set for success, and closings are done correctly to set up for the next day.
Sous Chef Expectations:
Work hand-in-hand with fellow FOH and BOH managers to oversee service while continuously thinking of areas for growth
Be team oriented and ready to step in and come to the aid of your staff at any time
Must thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen, with an eye for completing everything that needs to be accomplished
Assist in completing special event menus and preparations
Be a strong and diligent communicator
Ensure the kitchen staff operates in a timely manner
Assist in food ordering
Ensure that all prep products are of the highest standard
Ensure food safety and sanitation regulations are of the highest standard
Work on weekends
