Fresenius Medical Care is Hiring a Director, Business Development Near Princeton, NJ

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Responsible for managing the Acumen Business Development team to achieve the BU's revenue growth objectives. Facilitates and plans the activities and execution of campaigns to ensure strong relationships with Acumen's customers to foster organic growth and drive new client acquisition.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for engaging in complex, consultative sales process to affect Nephrology practice's readiness to adopt and utilize technology
  • Serves as voice of the customer for Acumen's product and operations teams. Focuses on deep understanding of market needs and emerging trends in Acumen's customer segments to inform BU's opportunities for growth.
  • Partners with BU leadership and Finance to provide input to short-range and long-range growth opportunities (customer segments, identified pipeline) and establish budget and multi-year growth targets.
  • Manages the business development team's execution to established targets. Provides coaching and mentoring as required.
  • Lead the marketing team and external partners to manage Acumen's brand, website and client facing collateral. Manages the company's participation in external events (RPA, ASN and similar conferences). Partners with Acumen leadership to host the annual user conference.
  • Ensures that budgets and schedules are within company requirements with significant organizational responsibility for the overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, expense priority management, and recommendation and implementation changes of current methods.
  • Provides leadership, guidance and coaching for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partnering with Human Resources on employee matters.
  • Collaborates with employees in the establishment of clear and concise development plans to ensure succession planning and the advancement of future leaders within the organization.
  • A strong tactical decision-maker; role primarily focuses on building and maintaining long term relationships with clients. Handles unforeseen issues.
  • Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship. Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
  • Interacts frequently with internal departments and external customers/vendors; particularly in problem resolution. Responsible for hiring, coaching and counseling employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action and terminations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:

  • Responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of business development, account management and marketing staff.

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's Degree; Advanced Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • 10 years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years' experience as a Manager; or 3 years' experience in a senior managerial role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing one or more departments.
  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
