At Freeman we believe in perfectly planned and exciting events. We are looking for an experienced and innovative Events Manager with the drive and enthusiasm to manage the execution of live events. The environment is fast-paced, energetic, and highly collaborative.
As an Events Manager, you will be tasked with building brand equity through event experiences, accelerating sales pipeline and promoting Freeman’s culture and values. The ideal candidate has a deep passion for events and will have a proven track record of building and executing events and tradeshows of all sizes. This role will partner closely with stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Communications, and Operations to bring activations to life and achieve organizational goals. The role is integral in presenting the Freeman brand to the events industry in a strong and postive manner as part of our face of the company to important industry organizations and internal and external thought leaders.
The Events Manager will have responsibility over corporate exhibit programs, activations, and sponsorship fulfillment for Freeman’s conference portfolio. Responsible for the development, management and execution of various conference elements relating to exhibits and sponsorship. This position manages high-touch corporate event experiences as part of a growing marketing organization. The manager will report to the Director of Brand Experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and improve exhibit floor plans to maximize revenue opportunities and engagement
  • Manage event budgets and produce accurate monthly forecasts helping the overall team manage expenses effectively
  • Attend events as the onsite lead and main point of contact
  • Prepare event briefing guides and debrief presentations
  • Report on event data-driven results including marketing generated pipeline, year-over-year attendee growth and event survey results
  • Create and distribute internal and external surveys
  • Collaborates with key sales stakeholders to deliver innovative and impactful Freeman proprietary events, positioning Freeman as a strategic, creative and innovative leader
  • Executes corporate exhibit program strategy and implements company messaging through activation, design, and booth build execution
  • Supports sales and marketing objectives by creating a platform to build brand awareness designed to increase demand, sales volume and profitability
  • Ensures alignment of sponsorship opportunities with company objectives by facilitating company messaging
  • Quantifies exposure, engagement and value gained from strategic partnerships with industry organizations
  • Elevating Freeman’s brand recognition in the larger corporate audience marketing category
  • Manages Freeman participation in and relationships with key industry organizations (resulting in over 90 meetings/year across the events team)
  • Manages event logistics, resource allocations, room blocks, T&E and other event logistics.
  • Oversees contracts and pricing; helping to negotiate favorable terms for all organizations, facilities and third-party providers.
  • Maintain corporate calendar of events with event details
  • Hybrid in office 2 days a week

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years Event Management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing required
  • Proven leadership traits supported by strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally across sales, marketing & product management organizations
  • Ability to socialize and interact and influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision and be accountable for actions and decisions

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) preferred

Travel Requirements

Travel 25% to 50%
