Performs work and administrative duties specific to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center's genetics, prevention department and overall Clinical DNA Biobank program with direct supervision. Specifically, duties will include (but not limited to) facilitation of eligibility/consent process for patients enrolling in the Clinical Biobank, monitoring the tracking/chain of custody for biobank samples, preparation of enrollment and quality reports for the biobanking team, along with the necessary preparation of reports/presentations for the Genetics team and Biobank Steering Committee. 

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate eligibility/consent process for patients enrolling in the Clinical Biobank
  • Monitor the tracking/chain of custody for biobank samples
  • Prepare enrollment and quality reports for the biobanking team
  • Prepare reports/presentations for the Genetics team and Biobank Steering Committee
  • Facilitate paper to electronic record preservation for the Alliance Lab
  • Perform a variety of data entry and transcription assignments for the Alliance Lab
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Under direct supervision, ability to use initiative and sound judgment in carrying out responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to use a mouse, navigate computer programs, enter data into computer systems in accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, complex healthcare environment
  • Ability to establish professional relationships with patients, families, staff and providers

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated customer service skills

 This role will have the opportunity to work partially at our campus and remotely. The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.15 to $30.11 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
