The Host/Hostess is the first and the last face the guest sees. That is, they are the first impression and the lasting impression. The host must be organized, calm, and dripping with hospitality. The guests should feel we are so happy to have them with us, and that their company is all we are hoping for. The host must be a solid multi-tasker, great with computers, and a clear and effective communicator.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in preparing a variety of breads, desserts, and pastries according to established recipes and portion control standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the preparation area, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients, and regular cleaning of equipment and work surfaces.
• Support in receiving and inspecting deliveries to ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients, promptly reporting any issues or discrepancies.
• Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation regulations, including the proper handling of perishable items, temperature control, and safe storage of food products.
• Follow standard operating procedures and kitchen guidelines meticulously to uphold consistency and quality in food preparation.
• Demonstrate a strong, upbeat, and positive personality while embodying a commitment to high standards with impeccable attention to detail.
• Exhibit a genuine passion for food, beverage, and hospitality, contributing to a vibrant and dynamic culinary team environment.
• Thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, showcasing the ability to multitask effectively while maintaining composure and professionalism.

Required Experience:

• Previous experience as a host/hostess in a fine dining restaurant or luxury hotel setting preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and interact with guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently.
• Proficiency in using restaurant reservation systems and other hospitality software preferred.
• Passion for hospitality and a genuine desire to create memorable experiences for guests.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the business.
• Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS certification) preferred.

Working Conditions/Environment

• The person having this position may have to stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight (8) hours per day.
• Agility in executing fast-paced movements to navigate different areas of the property efficiently.
• The person having this responsibility may have to move, pull, carry, or lift objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
