Formation Environmental LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our finance team in our Sacramento Office. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the accounts payable function and other accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies. The Accounting Specialist will collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and clients to facilitate seamless financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable Invoice Processing: Timely and accurately process a high volume of vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and project-specific requirements.
• Expense Management: Review and reconcile employee expense reports, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company expense policies.
• Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and resolving any discrepancies promptly.
• Payment Processing: Prepare and process payments, including checks and electronic transfers, in a timely manner.
• Accounts Receivable (AR) Assistance: Assist with monthly AR invoicing and related AR questions, as needed.
• Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date records of relevant accounting transactions, ensuring accessibility for audits and financial reporting.
• Compliance: Stay informed about relevant tax regulations and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including project managers and finance personnel, to address financial inquiries and support project-specific requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role.
• 3 to 5 years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Formation offers benefits for full-time positions. The salary range for this position is $67,000 – $75,000 per year commensurate with education, experience, and ability.
