Medical Assistant

Monday-Friday: Full time and Part time available.

Position Summary:

Setting up rooms for basic procedures, calling back patients, assisting the physician, Medical assistant paperwork, voice messages and incoming calls, assisting during procedures. Accompany the physician into the exam room in order to document each patient's interaction with the doctor. Record all elements of patient encounters, including but not limited to: History of present illness, past medical history, physical exam, diagnostic findings, lab and test results. Anticipates physician needs to facilitate the flow of the clinic. Using the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in real-time to document dictation from the physician. Must be discreet and tactful in performance of duties so as not to distract medical staff from patient care.

REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of one year in the healthcare field is required and experience in a direct patient care environment.
• Responsibility of carrying office equipment/medical equipment to different locations.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Good judgment, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to be self-motivated.
• Must be adaptable and versatile, the ability to multitask.
• Be able to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
• Maintain a commitment to high ethical standards.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Excellent English composition skills.
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding a plus.
• Knowledge and experience in electronic health records.
• Ability to stand and sit for long period of time.
• Learning and abiding by HIPAA guidelines.
• Performing other duties as required.
• Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
• Valid Florida driver's license required for travel between clinics

Be available Monday to Friday hours between 7:15 am until 5:00 pm

Education

• Completion of a Script writing course (preferred)
• Medical Assistant CMA or RMA (preferred)
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent education is required.'
