JOB TITLE: Bartender DEPARTMENT: Bar REPORTS TO: Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, F&B Director CLASSIFICATION: Full-time/Hourly $18.00 an hour SUMMARY: The Hotel Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service to hotel guests and patrons in various outlets, such as the lobby bar, restaurant, poolside bar, or event spaces. They create and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, and ensure guest satisfaction through prompt and friendly service. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Beverage Preparation and Service:· Prepare and serve a diverse selection of cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and guest preferences.· Engage with guests to take and serve food and drink orders, make recommendations, and provide information about available beverages and specials.· Ensure accurate and timely service by efficiently managing orders and prioritizing tasks during busy periods. 2. Customer Service:· Welcome guests warmly, establish rapport, and provide attentive service throughout their visit to the bar.· Anticipate guest needs, offer suggestions, and tailor recommendations based on individual preferences and dietary restrictions.· Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to their satisfaction. 3. Bar Operations and Maintenance:· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including bar tops, glassware, utensils, and equipment, in accordance with health and safety standards.· Monitor inventory levels of beverages, mixers, garnishes, and supplies, restocking as needed to ensure availability and prevent shortages.· Conduct regular checks of bar equipment, such as taps, blenders, and refrigeration units, and report any maintenance issues for prompt resolution. 4. Upselling and Promotion:· Promote featured drinks, specialty cocktails, and seasonal offerings to guests to enhance their experience and drive revenue.· Upsell premium and specialty beverages, as well as bar snacks, appetizers, and other fares, to increase sales and maximize profitability.· Collaborate with the F&B, marketing, and events team to develop and execute promotions, themed nights, and special events to attract guests to the bar. 5. Compliance and Safety:· Adhere to all legal regulations and hotel policies regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages, including age verification and responsible alcohol service practices.· Monitor guest behavior and intervene as necessary to prevent overconsumption or inappropriate behavior, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons.· Participate in training sessions and seminars on food and alcohol awareness, safety protocols, and emergency procedures to maintain a secure and compliant operation. Perform other related services and duties as assigned by supervisor and management. REQUIREMENTS:· Previous experience as a bartender in a hotel, restaurant, or similar hospitality setting.· Knowledge of beverage preparation techniques, including mixing, shaking, stirring, and garnishing.· Familiarity with a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wines, beers, and spirits.· Strong customer service skills, with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner.· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.· Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards.· TIPS or similar certification for responsible alcohol service.· Handling of food certification.· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays and alternate shifts as required by departmental schedules and hotel operations. WORK ENVIRONMENT:Exposure to varying bar conditions and temperatures is inherent in the role. As a Hotel Bartender, you play a vital role in creating memorable experiences for hotel guests by delivering exceptional beverage service with a focus on quality, hospitality, and professionalism.
