The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive accounting, dealership financial management, and a deep understanding of the automotive industry. As an Automotive Business Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, optimizing financial processes, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Management:
• Monitor and manage all aspects of the dealership's financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.

• Dealership Accounting:
• Oversee the recording and reconciliation of financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and industry standards.
• Manage the dealership's financial statements, trial balances, and other financial documents, collaborating with the accounting team as necessary.

• Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance financial processes, utilizing technology and best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets and prevent fraudulent activities.

• Taxation and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local taxation regulations, overseeing the accurate and timely filing of tax returns and related documentation.

• Team Leadership and Development:
• Lead and manage the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support to promote professional growth and performance excellence.
• Oversee employee performance making sure they meet expectations and address any issues or concerns.

• Relationship Building:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, service, and operations, to ensure alignment of financial goals and accurate reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field a plus.
• 5 years of experience as a Business Manager in an automotive dealership
• Proficiency in dealership management software (DMS) and accounting software. Knowledge of CDK Global software is required.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards in the automotive industry.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with team members, senior management, and external partners.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
