Role Overview:
As the Business Operations Manager here at FGM you’ll be responsible for ensuring our ability to successfully fulfill & deliver a variety of flat-rolled metal products to satisfy customer demand. You’ll need to be comfortable interacting with leadership & stakeholders across the organization, as well as communicating with customers in a professional and timely manner.
In this role, you will:
- Be the trusted resource to represent our Operations department; upholding high service standards and ensuring efficient delivery for all customer orders
- Establish and/or improve systems to capture, monitor, and share the meaningful customer-driven metrics & KPIs leveraged by leadership and stakeholders in: Logistics, Sales, Production, and elsewhere.
- Lead and directly manage a team in Support and/or Sales functions
- Build and maintain trust with both internal and external stakeholders
- Support and advocate for your team and their needs
- Evaluate and amplify customer concerns and feedback to drive continuous improvement
- Demonstrate a drive for excellence
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree AND 5 years of professional experience; or comparable cumulative professional & educational experience
- 3 years professional experience in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or similar role
- 2 years professional experience as a People Manager, responsible for 2 (or more) direct reports
- Experience in one of the following industries: Metals/Steel, Manufacturing, Construction, Building Supplies, or similar
- Professional, thoughtful, thorough, and transparent communications, both written and verbally
