Objective

Execute integrated sales strategies to support growth of business customers. Develops new bank business relationships through segment-based sales plans to achieve revenue growth targets and maximize operating capabilities and profitability. Sells Commercial Banking services to prospective clients. Responsible for the initial relationship with prospects and works with Branch Network, Treasury Management, Deposit Operations, Marketing and Commercial Banking to close selling process.

Responsibilities/Duties
    Develops new business with prospects, referral sources, former customers, and assigned customers.
  • Develops and implements select customer referral strategies to increase client satisfaction and portfolio growth for business customers. Responsible for initial relationship and follow-up with prospects.
  • Arranges meetings between referral sources, prospective customers or assigned customers and appropriate bank representatives.
  • Negotiates deposit terms, such as rates, fees, and terms.
  • Responsible for providing superior sales and service to Firstrust customers and prospect base.
  • Responsible to grow and maintain revenue, provide personalized service, effectively cross sell and refer to other Business Units when appropriate.
  • Identifies and provides the appropriate financial solutions which lend to maximum retention rates, growth and profitability.
  • Contacts and visits prospective customers to determine product/services needs and performs sales presentations to match company's products with identified needs.
  • Provides guidance to customers so that they may make informed decisions about their financial needs.
  • Ensure consistent approach on segment related deals by previewing all deals to assist with credit concerns and facilitate deal flow.
  • Reviews all documents for accuracy prior to closing.
  • Properly and accurately executes all documents.
  • Properly files, or forwards for filing, all documents according to existing procedure once executed.
  • Collaborate with Branch Network, Treasury Management, Deposit Operations, Marketing and Commercial Banking to close business opportunities.
  • Represents the bank in various civic and community functions to enhance its image and develop new business.
  • Performs duties as assigned by the SVP, Team Leader-Commercial Deposits.
Essential Functions

The position requires excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills. While performing the essential functions of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to drive a motor vehicle to travel to client locations and events. The employee needs to communicate and exchange information with all levels of management, clients and outside vendors. The employee must apply and estimate analytical data for trends and reporting purposes.

Knowledge - Skills & Abilities
  • Three to five years outside business development sales.
  • High school diploma required, 4-year college degree required or equivalent experience.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of banking products and services.
  • Excellent communication, credit, sales, and public relations skills.
  • Must be a self-starter capable of developing new business.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
