Description

SUMMARY 

Assist investment advisors in performance of sales and operational support by performing a variety of duties to support office and individual financial advisor's functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Utilize sales training skills to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Provide clerical support to sales efforts by performing functions such as, but not limited to, scheduling appointments; helping clients with basic questions with their accounts; maintaining and updating client files; and processing paperwork to open new accounts.
  • Answer, screen and direct incoming telephone calls.
  • Establish, update and maintain self-directed IRA's and collect annual custodial fees. Collect annual maintenance fees on retail accounts. 
  • Perform research on account histories, client account statements, and tax reports including cost basis information. 
  • Generate various reports for management.
  • Project management, including prospect mailings, marketing campaigns and referral incentive campaigns.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and literature regarding F & M Bank, Raymond James and various fund and insurance companies. Also maintain current supply of business cards and letterhead for individual advisors. 
  • Assist with FM Investments seminars by creating and mailing invitations, ordering and setting-up refreshments, greeting guests, and sending thank you and follow-up mailings.
  • Cross-market investment and bank products and services.
  • Complete continuing education to maintain licenses where applicable.
  • Complete and satisfactorily pass tests for bank policy and regulations that apply to position.

Listens: Is attentive and transmits correct information to appropriate people; accepts constructive feedback.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Ability to utilize software tools provided by broker-dealer. Ability to use internet and websites to provide investment analysis. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as trusts, prospectus, POA’s, wills and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and rate of return. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. 

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

  • Series 7 License and Life/Health Insurance License complete/acquire within agreed upon time frame
  • Valid Driver's License

OTHER KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point applications as well as research skills using Internet search tools. Organized, detail-oriented, and diligent work ethic. Good analytical skills. Able to handle multiple ongoing tasks. Able to work independently.
