EVOLVE is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Memphis, TN
Under general supervision, the Staff Accountant will provide financial support to designated operating areas regarding month-end close, account reconciliation, journal entry posting, financial analysis, financial reporting, and other projects as assigned. The individual in this position must have the ability to work independently, be familiar with working in large sets of data, analyze financial data and reach appropriate conclusions.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities :
- Prepare and record monthly journal entries
- Prepare detailed account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
- Analyze revenue and expense variances to determine accuracy and completeness of accounting entries
- Prepare management reports utilizing financial and statistical data
- Prepare reports using PowerBI
- Assist with various related projects as requested
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field required
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- 2-3 years accounting experience preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or Masters preferred
- High level of accuracy, thoroughness and orderliness in performing work assignments
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate confidently with superiors and peers
- Strong accounting skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical skills
- Judgment and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, PowerQuery)
- Experience with PowerBI and SQL
