This is a full-time position located in the Accounting Department with working hours to include some weekends, holidays, and evenings as required with benefits after the successful completion of a sixty (60) day introductory period. This is a promotional opportunity and is internal/external recruitment. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Sr. Staff Accountant’s responsibilities are diverse and include, but are not limited to: Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies. RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare monthly account analyses for selected General Ledger accounts.Prepare and record monthly expenses accruals to ensure proper recording of activity.Prepare all assigned Balance Sheet Reconciliations monthly.Support and partner with management to assist in analyzing and evaluating business decisions from a financial perspective.Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger to record transactions in accordance with GAAP.Anticipate accounting policy issues, recommending policies and disclosures to management.Track/report on various manual processes for the business.Support various other smaller departments within the organization.Assist with preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.Assist with special projects in support of the Financial Reporting Manager, including product line analyses, sales analyses, cost control analyses, process improvements, system implementations and validations.Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABLITIES: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance3 years’ experience in accounting/financeCPA preferred.Experience with financial reporting requirementsHigh level of expertise in Microsoft OfficeExperience in managing and utilizing software applications for data extraction and reporting preferred.Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting PrinciplesExcellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skillsHighly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detailAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work flexible hours to meet deadlines.Sitting for extended periods of timeAbility to speak clearly and distinctly.Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse.Lift packages up to 25 poundsSPECIAL CONDITIONS: Work in a confidential work area.
