This is a full-time position located in the Housekeeping Department at The Guest House at Graceland having variable/flexible working hours/days to include weekends, evenings, holidays and overtime as required according to the business needs of the hotel with benefits after successful completion of a sixty (60) day introductory period. This is a promotional opportunity and is an internal/external recruitment.RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the housekeeping management team of The Guest House at Graceland. Performs all house aide tasks as needed and upon shortage of staff.Able to competently train house aides to perform their duties as assigned Assists the housekeeping supervisors with any special projectsAble to perform general cleaning of the outside public areas as neededClean and sanitize all public areas of the hotel to include guest restroomsShine/polish/dust windows, furniture, elevators and tracks as neededClean tile floor in lobby, hallways, vending areas, and elevatorPerforms carpet cleaning as needed Vacuum hallways daily and throughout the day as neededClean guest stairways dailyShampoo all common area carpets as neededClean parking lotEmpty all large trash receptacles and replace trash bags inside and outside as neededPick up trash from all entrances, parking lot, lawn, and flower bedsClean out all cigarette butts and trash from outdoor urnsHaul all trash to dumpsterClean dumpster area as needed ensuring all trash is placed inside the dumpsterComplete all tasks that may be assigned by management.REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of daily hotel operations; must be able to communicate both in person and on the telephone with a wide variety of individuals; ability to maintain confidentiality; skill to work with guests who may become irate and upset; ability to problem solve; must have demonstrated experience with guest services/relations; must be willing to be part of the team; must be organized; must be fully capable to work and complete all tasks given under no direct supervision.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to speak clearly and distinctly; both in person and on the telephone; ability to lift up to 25 lbs.; ability to stoop and reach; ability to climb stairs; ability to stand for long periods of time.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work in a no smoking area; must be able to work flexible hours/days and overtime as required; must be able to work weekends and holidays; ability to maintain confidentiality.SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Identification badge and uniform is required; must practice good personal hygiene to present a neat, clean, and healthy appearance at all times.
