ESP International is Hiring a Warehouse Operations Manager Near Rapids, IA

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for implementing high level strategies that set the focus and control resource allocations for the warehouse. This position leads a cross functional team in the execution and continuous improvement of processes in the following areas: Shipping, Receiving, Material Handling, Value-Add, Lean Initiatives, and Inventory Control. The Warehouse manager will optimize operations, control costs, enhance customer satisfaction, and mitigate risks, all of which will contribute to ESP’s long-term success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement efficient warehouse layouts, workflows, and processes.
  • Streamlining operations, minimize bottlenecks, reduce cycle times, and enhance overall productivity.
  • Work in partnership with the Customer Excellence and Supply Chain Teams so that strategies are aligned and customized to our customers’ expectations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and disruptions in our warehouse operations.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and implementing measures to mitigate risks such as damage or accidents within the warehouse.
  • Leverage technology and data to enhance our warehouse operations.
  • Reporting Daily: line efficiencies, OTD and CAPA’s. Identifying gaps in the metrics and improving performance.
  • Maintain a clean and well organized facility. This includes office areas, shared spaces and overall building structures.

  • Quantitative: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, graphs, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Critical Thinking: Able to display high level reasoning skills to solve multiple, complex situations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management from an accredited College or University and five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with pressure situations and how to handle them in a professional business manner also required.

Accountabilities

First Month:

  • Spend significant time in all functional areas of the warehouse to establish an understanding of each function
  • Through each function learning and becoming familiar with our WMS and ERP system
  • Complete product certification training program through Level 1
  • Build good working relationships with key members of the engineering, quality, sales, supply base, warehouse, and production departments

First Quarter:

  • Spend significant time in all functional areas of the warehouse to establish an understanding of each function and systems being utilized.
  • Become familiar with current metrics reporting and establishing data and creating monthly metric reports
  • Complete Level 2 product certification training program
  • Introduction to CAPA and current open issues needing improvement
  • Provide 90-day observations and recommendations on current processes and systems.

Second Quarter:

  • Obtain advanced working knowledge of most functional areas in the warehouse and efficient with standard WMS and ERP functionalities
  • Generating monthly performance metrics, review results and establishing action items
  • Leading Corrective Action Initiatives on open CAPA (Order processing issues).
  • Establish and implement updated advanced metrics for the warehouse functions.
  • Develop key strategies and priorities for the warehouse

Disclaimer

The warehouse manager will be responsible for managing all functional areas of the warehouse and personnel. This will include receiving, material handling, value-add and shipping. In addition to managing personnel in these functional areas they will be responsible for creating high level strategies to form lean and efficient processes.
