JOB SUMMARY

New Earth USA is a growing waste solutions company that transforms waste treatment and conversion challenges into integrated, state-of-the-art solutions with practical applications for industrial and municipal customers. We have a team of hardworking, dedicated men and women and offer excellent benefits, including PTO, health insurance, paid holidays, and 401k.

We are currently seeking a full time Director of Operations to add to our team of professionals. This position will be based out of the Company's office in Cedar Rapids, IA and will oversee all company operations relating to land application of industrial by-products, dredging, excavation, construction, transportation, beneficial reuse, waste management, landfill management, dewatering and residuals management.

The ideal candidate will have considerable senior-level management experience working in fast-paced, dynamic settings. This role requires outstanding organizational, communication, and leadership skills and an ability to develop innovative solutions. The Director of Operations will work closely with company executives to develop, implement and execute the company's long-term strategic vision.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with senior managers in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans
  • Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration
  • Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity
  • Work with project managers in the development of financial and budgetary plans
  • Analyze current operational processes and performance and implement improvements
  • Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into the goals, progress, and obstacles of key initiatives
  • Draw on relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks
  • Implement process improvements to maximize output and minimize costs
  • Adhere to the company’s policies and standards, and ensure that the company complies with all applicable laws and regulations

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Considerable knowledge pertaining to the construction, excavation, and trucking industries.
  • Considerable organizational, communication, and leadership skills, backed by previous professional success
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee management
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Ability to create and implement strategic initiatives that increase productivity and support rapidly shifting business demands
  • Experience in developing budgets and business plans
  • Superior internal and external negotiation skills
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, using business management software
  • Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, problem solving and relationship building skills
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
  • Strong technological skills with the ability to develop, analyze, implement and manage modern technology systems
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

EDUCATION/LICENSES

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Advanced degree in a related field
  • Ten or more years in a senior leadership role in a related field/industry
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Clean background

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position may require frequent travel (25% to 50%) and overtime
  • This position may require lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting and standing for long periods of time and traversing all types of terrain on foot in all weather conditions
