Equitas Health is Hiring an Associate Director of Human Resources Near Columbus, OH

POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for all human resource-related matters, including the development and interpretation of personnel policies, procedures and practices, recruitment, employee benefits, and payroll administration, monitoring employee relations issues, processing of all personnel actions and day‐to‐day human resources operations, and supporting staff professional developmental needs.SALARY: $105,600-$132,000ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:The essential functions of this role include but are not limited to, ensuring we maintain high-quality Human Resources operations; traveling, driving, or having reliable transportation; strong written and oral communication; relationship building; utilizing a computer for typing and research; attending and leading meetings; and presenting to small groups. The Associate Director will collaborate closely with the HR Director to lead strategic planning as well as budget preparation/management for the Human Resources department. The Associate Director will provide supervision to the labor & employee relations manager, benefits manager, talent acquisition manager, payroll manager, and HR operations coordinator. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Direct and supervise all activities relating to the administration and maintenance of payroll and employee benefits programs.
  • Direct and supervise talent acquisition operations, including but not limited to equitable hiring practice standardization, leading high-level national searches, strategizing on radical recruitment strategies, and revitalizing new hire orientation.
  • Direct and supervise labor and employee relations operations, including but not limited to partnering on employee retention initiatives, providing managerial support and development, streamlining investigatory protocols to maintain compliance, fairness, and consistency, and serving as one point of contact for union negotiations and labor relations.
  • Conduct regular supervision of the Employee Benefits Manager, the Talent Acquisition Manager, the Labor & Employee Relations Manager, and the HR Administrative Operations Coordinator.
  • Develop, implement, and control programs in a manner that ensures cost effectiveness, market competitiveness, and internal equity among employees.
  • Build, maintain, and update the Equitas Health Human Resources Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and standardization in departmental practices.
  • Administer benefits programs, including conducting analyses and serving as primary contact with providers (including group health and life), workers' compensation, unemployment, and retirement plans.
  • Assist the HR director in the daily administration of other HR services as directed or assigned, including recruitment and selection, promotions, transfers, contract negotiation and administration, affirmative action/EEO compliance, job classification, performance evaluation, and employee relations in accordance with quality management principles and overall objectives of the organization.
  • Develop, prepare, generate and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to personnel information and data, including issues such as benefits costs, staffing levels/deployment, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, applicant tracking, affirmative action/EEO, compensation, promotions, etc.
  • Effectively utilize the data processing system to obtain, store and analyze pertinent data and information.
  • Manage all Human Resources modernization and digitization projects, including but not limited to DynaFile and HRIS. 
  • Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resource management. Identify trends that could affect organizational objectives and/or operational resources. Interpret appropriate laws and policies and advise management, employees and retirees accordingly.
  • Provide regular Human Resources updates in various settings verbally and in writing.
  • Manage and lead the weekly HR Office Hours session.
  • Manage and disseminate the monthly Human Resources newsletter.
  • Manage human resource-specific aspects of the volunteer and intern engagement process, including but not limited to federal work-study tracking, intern applications, liaising with local college and university representatives, and the fee waiver program.
  • Co-manage the Human Resource budget with the Director.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and other Qualifications:
  • 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources.
  • Prior payroll and benefits management experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to employment and payroll law.
  • Must have sensitivity to, interest, and competence in cultural differences, HIV/AIDS, minority health, sexual practices, chemical dependency, and a demonstrated competence in working with persons of color, and gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender community.
  • Ability to effectively respond to and interact with all organization staff. Competencies include excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills. Must be a team player.
  • Requires high-level computer expertise, including proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications use of database, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications. Experience with HRIS systems required.
  • Flexible, innovative and the ability to excel in a fast-paced growth-oriented and time-critical environment, and work efficiently without constant supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
