Equitas Academy Charter Schools is Hiring a Chief Operating Officer Near Los Angeles, CA

We currently operate four Elementary Schools and two Middle Schools, with more schools opening in the near future. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, facilities, compliance, and fiscal oversight. They will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, school community, and the board of directors to refine and implement the organization’s multi-year strategic plan, manage organizational resources, and lead Equitas to achieve measurable outcomes that promote a diverse, equitable, inclusive, anti-racist organization. Opportunity Equitas is seeking an equity-minded, strategic, and skilled Chief Operating Officer (COO) to support Equitas in achieving academic excellence, living their values and fostering a safe, and supportive culture that honors students, families, team members, and the Pico-Union community. The Chief Operations Officer will ensure that every operational function – facilities management, compliance, school operations, student recruitment and enrollment, transportation, teacher certification, banking, risk assessment and risk management, development, procurement, student information systems, IT, safety, new school openings, benefits and payroll — is performed with a high level of thoughtfulness and excellence, so that student learning, curiosity and optimism can flourish. Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Operations Officer will work with the Equitas team and community to increase organizational visibility and hold quality and accountability across all aspects of the organization. The COO will set the operational vision and be a thoughtful and collaborative steward of the Equitas mission, resources, and values. She/he/they will be inspired by and excited to develop sustainable systems, manage organizational resources, ensure facility solutions, and build capacity for teams and schools to operate at their full potential. The COO will work with the CEO and members of the leadership team to lead the organization through ambitious growth and significantly increase the number of students and alumni by ensuring more Pico-Union students receive the high-quality education they deserve.
