POSITION SUMMARY

Engineered Products is seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our team in Greenville, SC. As the Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of our company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to driving financial performance.


AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and monitor departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide guidance and support to department managers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions and adherence to internal controls.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business growth initiatives.

  • Excellent planning and organizing abilities to establish effective courses of action and ensure work is completed efficiently.
  • Self-starting attitude with a demonstrated initiative and willingness to take the lead on financial initiatives.
  • Personal accountability, demonstrating ownership and responsibility for personal actions and decisions.
  • Conceptual thinking skills to analyze hypothetical situations, patterns, and abstract concepts to formulate connections and new insights.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.


EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's degree or CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management and accounting roles.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software applications.
  • Continuing education in accounting, finance, or related fields to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
