Position: Referral Specialist

Location: Wailuku, HI

Pay: $17 to $22/hr (depending on experience)

Experience: Previous experience working within a clinic, hospital, or doctor’s office working with insurance companies (Preferred)

Education: High school diploma or GED

Type: Full-time; Temporary

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm

Employers Options is seeking a Referral Specialist to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

• Assist patients via telephone calls, email, and faxing
• Make travel arrangements and communicate all details to the Referral Specialist
• Coordinate with insurance companies for inter-island air/ground transportation
• Obtain authorization for in-hospital consultations, doctor appointments, surgery, and changing PCP to CCM
• Track referrals and ensure timely submission of each assigned patient referral
• Schedule patients for medical appointments
• Maintain medical records and data entry duties
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Familiarity with the pre-authorization insurance process is a plus
• Knowledge of booking air and ground transportation online and over the telephone
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Effectively work on a team and independently
• Ability to prioritize projects, work in a fast-paced environment, and multi-task
• Excellent attention to detail
