RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Finance is a critical member of Elmington's Asset Management team, leading the permanent financing process for all Affordable housing developments. This position will have the primary responsibility of managing the conversion process from the construction period to the permanent financing period.

The position will have daily exposure to the Elmington executive team, senior deal team members, large financial institutions, and other key external stakeholders. The role is expected to manage lender and investor relationships throughout the life of an asset.

• Manage the loan conversion process from construction to permanent financing.
• Manage the 8609 processes, including coordinating with stakeholders, preparing necessary documentation, and ensuring timely submission to the appropriate agencies.
• Partner with the Asset Management the portfolio to both maximize profitability and ensure strong asset quality through consistent identification and resolution of financing issues. Leads the resolution of out-of-balance and/or default situations which may occur in the portfolio.
• Stay current with industry trends, policies, and regulations related to affordable housing finance, and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
• Participate in team initiatives to improve risk management processes, reporting, data integrity, and portfolio monitoring.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• 4 years of Affordable Housing finance experience
• Extensive knowledge of tax credits, tax-exempt bonds, HUD and/or other Affordable financing programs.
• Strong understanding of financial reports/documents including operating statements, balance sheets, and budgets as well as legal documents such as loan documents and Limited Partnership Agreements.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
