Elme Communities is Hiring a General Operations Manager Near Bethesda, MD

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Trust Builder and Ambassador of Exceptional Resident Experiences

  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to all team members, both on-site and ERS to aid in customer satisfaction, community operations, and results.
  • Oversee resident relations by encouraging timely, clear, and courteous communication to both internal and external customers, and resolving at lowest level.
  • Monitor internal processes, impact of technology, and KPIs to ensure optimal efficiency of current and future programs.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to measure community results and performance and implement action plans for communities as needed, always focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Be curious, constantly evaluating new technology and new opportunities to gain efficiency, improve results, and create an improved experience for both Elme employees and Elme residents.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Be a positive role model and champion of company mission, vision, values, and customer service and operational standards of excellence.
  • Hire, inspire, and develop a diverse, high-performing, and predominantly remote team.
  • Take ownership of talent attraction and retention efforts by delivering exceptional candidate and employee experiences.
  • Generously coach and mentor team members in their professional and leadership development efforts and facilitate participation in on the job and company directed learning programs.
  • Ensure that policies, procedures, safety, and compliance expectations are clearly communicated and consistently met.
  • Proactively manage staff scheduling, employee time off requests, overtime needs, and general timekeeping responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate your learning agility by taking ownership of your individual path to professional development and career advancement.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position oversees the Elme Resident Services team.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years multi-site management and/or General Manager experience and 5 years supervisory experience required.
  • Proven track record of career progression in the property management industry with a strong desire to grow as an operational and people leader.
  • Demonstrated exceptional aptitude to influence up, down, and across function areas without creating siloes.
  • Strong problem solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and marketing skills – written, verbal, and social media.
  • Strong financial aptitude and demonstrated budget management experience.
  • Digitally proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point.
  • Experience with CRM systems and/or industry specific management software, such as Yardi, required. 
  • Demonstrated resilience and commitment to deliver and be accountable for results.
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
